Domain Name Registration Expire Date Or Length Not A Google Ranking Factor

11/23/2018 12:41:53 PMVisitors: 1218

Google does not use the domain name registration length and the expire date of a domain name as  a ranking signal by Google's search algorithms once again.

John Mueller from Google had to confirm that he said in the past it was not a ranking signal. In fact, he said on Twitter that it doesn't make sense for them to use this as a signal in a practical sense. John said "Yeah, this is more of a practical thing than a signal of quality." "Also, AFAIK some TLDs have restrictions regarding limiting registration length or publishing the expiration dates (though I haven't checked that in a while now), he added."

Yet another example of direct vs indirect SEO ranking factor debates where Google likely doesn't even look at this signals indirectly at all.
